The completely unfiltered diary of a 23-year-old girl (week 10)

It’s week 10! Wow.

Just because it’s a nice number I feel like I should, idk, reflect on the past ten weeks or something.

So…how has life changed since 2nd July 2020?

I think I’m more chill now, in a way. But maybe it’s just general indifference. Haven’t had a late night crying spiel these few weeks, at least. Maybe I’m just distracted by work (or lack thereof).

It’s been just about two months in this government job and I’m pretty glad I’m leaving. Not that it was bad, but I just can’t really see myself working there. It was pretty chill, since they probably didn’t wanna stress me out, but the full-timers are definitely working an absolutely crazy amount.

But anyway, screw this seriousness LOL it’s morning right now. Let’s make a list.

  • Fiverr gig is really taking off! Well, not blowing up completely, but I’m alllmost at level two! Just gotta get a few more orders. It’s crazy, because in the past 1.5 weeks, I suddenly got my three biggest orders so far ($550, $490, and $290, though this last one isn’t quite confirmed yet). Turns out I made it to the first page of my subcategory. Wew.
  • Social life side, I’ve been hanging out with/talking to this girl, JL, a lot more. We started hanging out more because we started climbing together. And thankfully climbing has happened the past few weekends! The only drawback is that it’s kinda expensive. But it’s a ton of fun, good exercise, and something to really look forward too. But anyways, I’ve been thinking of revamping my friend circle for a while, so this is a nice start. Well, not really revamping, because my old friends are bloody amazing people, but maybe expanding.
  • Found out that a bunch of Of Monsters and Men songs are super easy to play on the ukulele. ;)
  • Re-found the BBC Earth podcast. It’s awesome.
  • Hit a 200-day streak on Duolingo. LOL. But I really gotta put more effort into proper practicing, or watching more Spanish Youtube videos. There’s a Meetup group for practicing Spanish, but I really don’t think I’m good enough yet to go for one. It would be cool to though!!

Man, I guess nothing that much really changed, LOL.

Brought the parents out on the weekend, and am gonna try to do that more often. Though I hate planning because it stresses me out like crazy. Because I always want to make perfect plans. At least for my parents. Because they they don’t really care what we do/eat, so in a way it shouldn’t be stressful, but I also hate it because they never seem to be enjoying themselves and they never tell me what they like. Ugh. It’s so annoying. Like, just tell me what the fuck you want to do, and then we can do something you actually enjoy.

Ok yeah, that pisses me off.

Lol I have zero patience. Getting annoyed just thinking about it. It’s so ridiculous!! Like, yes, I know they’re trying not to stress me out, or maybe they really don’t know what they want to do, but what the fuck, if you don’t like something, JUST TELL ME and things would be SO. MUCH. EASIER.

Bloody asian parents lol.

Ok yeah, I think I really have no patience for inefficiency. Oops. Like, I hate wasting time, even though I’m not even that busy LOL. Even if I would’ve spent my time doing nothing otherwise, I still hate wasting time.

Oh my goodness. I just got through the $550 edit, and damn. This is definitely not gonna be something I can afford the time to do if my job picks up in future. I’ve been doing this whole, work all day and spend all my free time editing kinda thing. It’s probably not great for my well-being. Though, it’s probably also because of the recent overloading of gigs.

I’m excited to finish this up and deliver it though. I really hope the customer is happy with it, because I can’t have a bad rating bring down my five stars :P It’s a first-time customer, and she booked a big gig, so I hope she doesn’t have unrealistic expectations of the result. I was clear about it though, so hopefully it all turns out fine :)

Can’t wait to be done with this!!

Alright, signing off. It’s a short one today.

xo,

Amber
